This extremely rare survivor MOPAR combines both the “Suddenly, it’s 1960 Forward Look” and the “Jet Age” (over the top) beauty. In great to excellent condition overall, this really, really, cool automobile will surely compliment - if not enhance - any discriminating car collection. This is a gorgeous, driver quality (not a “trailer queen”) iconic classic that anyone will be proud to own and fully enjoy.
This rust - free car with original provenance from California and Arizona and in Colorado for the last 13 years received a comprehensive restoration by prior ownership approximately 15 to 20 years ago. The work included the following: Rebuilding the 361 cu.in. “Ram Fire” engine (believed to be rated at 320HP) and the 3 speed “Torque-Flyte” automatic transmission. Replacing the original 2 bbl Carter carburetor with a 4 bbl Holley unit (NOTE: Original 2 bbl Carter carburetor will be included and come with the car). Repainting the car in the existing (gorgeous) Cobalt Blue finish. Re-chroming and polishing all the brightwork, including the pot metal components. Re-upholstering the entire cabin in blue (with slight purplish hues) tweed and silver accents. Replacing the carpet and headliner as well as the window “fuzzies”. Numerous other parts and components were also replaced, redone and/or refreshed. Installing new disc brakes on the front axle (from Stainless Steel Brake Company) as well as a new dual master brake cylinder to provide much better stopping power (NOTE: Original front brake drum assemblies and master cylinder will be included and come with the car). Installing new chrome wheels and tires to improve both the appearance and the stance of the car (NOTE: Original wheels and hubcaps are not available - did not come with the car when I purchased it from the previous collector in 2011). NOTE: New weather stripping (doors and trunk lid) was procured from Steele Rubber Company but not affixed by previous ownership; same still need to be installed (New weather seals will be included and come with the car). New spare taillights lenses will also be included with the car.
Chrome, pot metal and stainless-steel components are in excellent, almost near new condition throughout. The design is absolutely stunning - whether looking at the front or rear of the car - and/or at the instrument panel. So much chrome, it makes one blink. Said instrument panel is in excellent condition; look at it, grab the steering wheel and be transported back in time. The dash is in similar excellent condition with no cracks or deformation as it has been protected by a form fitting cover. The entire cabin is in excellent condition and is most comfortable and inviting.
This beautiful classic car has been very well maintained - especially since its refurbishment - and it shows. Not totally 100% perfect, of course as it has minor blemishes and shows its age here and there. It starts at the first turn of the key, idles (purrs) nicely and runs/drives smoothly and effortlessly - just pure pleasure! Mechanically strong and totally dependable, it is showing 32,406 miles on the odometer (true mileage is unknown; it could be 132,406. However, the great overall condition of the car does not tend to support that. Still, 132,406 miles would only be 2,000 miles yearly over its 66 years life)! A brand-new battery has just been installed a couple days ago.
Altogether, a gorgeous and iconic classic Dodge automobile ready to be enjoyed right away. Now offered at the affordable price of $42,750, somewhat negotiable for the serious and appreciative buyer - arguably a most reasonable price for such a fantastic looking and rare automobile. Best offer (polite and reasonable) may be entertained/considered. Of note, anyone would be hard pressed to be able to complete a comparable restoration for that amount (asking price) and that would be with already owning and starting with a complete, original car in great condition. Payment via certified bank wire only.
