1937 Chevy 1/2 ton pickup after 3 year body off frame restoration
Germantown, TN 38139
For sale fresh off of a 3 year restoration is my 1937 Chevy pickup. This truck was traded in to Welsh Chevrolet in 1960 by its original owner, and used by the dealership for 45 years as the centerpiece in their showroom. This means the body was / is in incredibly good shape as it was off of the road and out of the weather since 1960!
In 2005 it passed into private ownership as a “garage queen” driven on pretty days, and I acquired the truck in 2018. I have over 400 pictures of the truck during its restoration, as well as the engine rebuild. The truck was taken down to the last nut and bolt, frame soda blasted, and meticulously reassembled, painted its original colors of creme with brown trim, and reassembled with a new stained oak bed with stainless fasteners, new glass, new emblems, and rechromed bumpers, grille, hood ornament and door handles. Water pump rebuilt, radiator cleaned and pressure tested, installed with new pressure cap, and new thermostat installed. The 216 6 cylinder engine, 3 speed transmission and rear end are all original to the truck and were rebuilt. A new clutch, pilot bearing, throwout bearing and resurfaced flywheel were installed.
The truck electrics were converted from 6 VDC to 12 VDC, and a new windshield wiper, light bulbs and horn were installed. Tires are new Goodyear radials with repro hubcaps on the original style 6 lug artillery rims and a spare tire. Four additional used bias ply tires, original hubcaps and the original air cleaner are included. Paperwork includes a clean Tennessee title, 1937 Chevy Truck shop manual, owner’s manual, and a copy of the restoration file with all receipts. The truck starts on first crank and is beautiful! The truck location is outside Memphis, TN and the asking price is $36,500 or best offer. Please contact Jack Tyler at 901-270-5656.
